Hiett Named Assistant Athletic Trainer

Bethany, W.Va – Bethany College department of athletics head athletic trainer Kacey Morrison announced the hiring of assistant athletic trainer Tyler Hiett Friday afternoon.

Tyler is going to be a wonderful addition to the athletic training staff at Bethany College. He comes to us with significant collegiate experience and the passion and knowledge needed to provide care for our 300+ student-athletes" expressed Morrison. "It's great to add him to the Bison team!"

Hiett comes to Bethany after spending time at Ryan Fern's Healthplex as a Physical Therapy Technician.

Prior to his time as a member of the Healthplex staff, he was an assistant athletic trainer at Shepherd University where he covered football, men and women's basketball, softball and baseball.

Hiett also spent time with Minot State University Athletic Training staff as a graduate assistant where he earned his Master's degree in Management. He gained experience in all aspects of athletic training as both a head and assistant trainer for multiple sports and as an instructor.

"I want to thank Kacey Morrison and Director of Athletics Mike Worrell for giving me this opportunity to work with the student-athletes here at Bethany" stated Hiett. "I look forward to providing our athletes with the best possible care and I am excited to be a Bison."

Hiett graduated from West Virginia University in 2013 with a bachelor's degree in Athletic Training. He worked with a number of Mountaineer's athletic programs. Under the supervision of WVU's Orthopedic Specialists, Dr. Bal and Dr. Moorehead, Hiett worked with the WVU men's soccer program in 2012. During his time as a Mountaineer, he also worked with volleyball, football, women's soccer, and coed cheerleading squads.

In 2013, he worked with Fairmont State University as a student trainer for men and women's basketball, football and baseball.

Hiett's certifications include BOC and CPR/AED for West Virginia and American Red Cross First/AED.
