Men's Soccer Hosts Bethany in PAC Quarterfinal on Saturday

PAC Tournament Release

MEADVILLE, Pa. --
With Wednesday night's victory over Thiel College, the Allegheny College men's soccer team officially clinched a home playoff game in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship Tournament. The fourth-seeded Gators will host fifth-seeded Bethany College on Saturday, October 29, at 2:00 p.m. on the grass pitch at the Robertson Athletic Complex.

Allegheny (5-7-4, 4-2-4 PAC) leapfrogged Bethany (8-5-5, 4-2-4 PAC), the defending PAC champion, in the standings after the Bison tied Westminster College on Wednesday. The regular-season meeting between the Gators and Bison, the 2022 conference opener back on September 20, ended in a 2-2 draw.

For the Gators, Saturday's match will be their first postseason contest in 2011 when they were members of the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC). In eight seasons from 2004-11, Allegheny qualified for the NCAC playoffs six times, including a magical run to the NCAC title and the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament berth in 2004.

Admission for the PAC quarterfinal on Saturday is free. Fans traveling to the Robertson Athletic Complex are asked to park in the grass lot on the north side of Frank B. Fuhrer Field. Any fan needing handicap-accessible parking will be able to park in the paved lot on the stadium's south side.

Anyone unable to attend can watch the stream and follow live stats on alleghenygators.com.
