Baseball knocked off at Penn State-Beaver, 4-3

MONACA, Pa. (April 3) - The Bison were dealt a 4-3 loss by Penn State-Beaver in a non-conference game Monday afternoon.

The Bethany College baseball team falls to 7-11-1 overall, while Penn State-Beaver, members of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association, improve to 8-6 this season.

The Bison finished the game with 11 hits, including a trio of multi-hit performances. Sophomore John Lee (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington), junior Ryan Nickerson (Huntington Beach, Calif./Huntington Beach) and freshman Paul Runkel (Steubenville, Ohio/Steubenville) all collected two hits, while Runkel added an RBI.

Senior pitcher Bill McLuckie (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) got the nod on the mound and went five innings, while yielding two runs on eight hits with one strikeout to earn a no-decision.
