GREENVILLE, Pa. (April 14) - The Bethany College baseball team fell to Thiel 12-3 on Friday in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup.

With the loss, Bethany falls to 10-14-1 overall and 5-8 in the PAC, while the Tomcats improve to 14-9 overall and 6-4 in the conference.

John Lee (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) and Neil Woods (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) paced the offense with two knocks apiece. Jacob Miller (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington North) finished one 1-for-2 with an RBI. In relief, Ken Ryan (Brownsville, Pa./Brownsville) gave two strong innings allowing just one hit, while striking out three batters.

Thiel cracked the scoreboard in their second time up. After three consecutive singles loaded the bases, a walk brought home the game's first run before a fielder's choice brought home their second run of the inning, making it 2-0.

The Tomcats exploded in the fourth for seven runs, including a three-run home run to cap off the scoring.

The Bison tallied two in their half of the sixth to get on the board. With a runner on and one out, Noah Rady (Irwin, Pa./Norwin) doubled to right center in his first collegiate at-bat to pit runners on the corners for Bethany. A ground out to short brought the first run home followed by an error from the Thiel shortstop plating the second run, making it 11-2.

In the top of the eighth, Bethany added their third run when Miller singled up the middle, scoring the runner from third.

Next up, the Bison host the Tomcats on Saturday, April 15 for a doubleheader set to begin at 1 p.m.
