Bethany Sweeps Chatham

Bethany, W.Va - The Bethany College baseball team took on the Chatham Cougars in a PAC doubleheader. The Bison swept the Cougars in the three game series. The green and white defeated the Cougars in game one 4-3 in a walk off homerun off the bat of Tyler Alworth in 10 innings. In game two, the Bison cruised by with a 7-4 win over the Cougars. Bethany reaches 20 wins in a season for the first time since 2010.

Game One Overview

Bethany edged Chatham, 4-3  

The Courgars took a quick 2-0 lead on the Bison in the first inning. The green and white answered in the bottom half from a Jake Stemmerich single up the middle driving in Neil Woods. Ethan Young hit his fourth homerun of the season knotting the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the second. Chatham took the lead again in sixth inning. Bethany answered the Courgars with a Ryan Anselmino homerun. The Bison and Courgars went into extra innings. In the 10th inning Tyler Alworth hit his fourth homerun on the season in walk off fashion. Bethany won 4-3.

Game Two Overview
Bethany defeated Chatham 7-4

Bethany struck first in game two in the bottom of the second inning. Ryan Anselmino drove in Tyler Alworth. Josh Lonero singled up the middle scoring Anselmino. Ethan Young hit his fifth homerun of the season with a 2-run shot to left field. Bethany led 4-0. The Cougars scored three runs in the third inning. The green and white scored in the fourth inning off of a an Ethan Young single driving in Josh Lonero. In the bottom of the fifth, Kevin Roach hit an opposite field 2-run homerun to left field, giving the Bison a 7-4.
