Bethany Wins Extra Inning Thriller Against Grove City

Grove City, Pa - The Bethany College baseball team took on the Grove City Wolverines in a PAC nine inning contest Monday afternoon. The Bison edged the Wolverines in 11 innings taking the rubber match of the series 3-2. Ethan Young's triple in the top of the 11th drove in the speedy Brandon Wagner to give the green and white the lead.

Bethany edged Grove City, 3-2 (11 Innings)

The Wolverines scored first in the bottom of the third inning. The Bison answered the Wolverines run in the next inning. Josh Lonero hit a double to center field scoring Ryan Anselmino. The green and white took the lead shortly after, from Ethan Young's single to right center, driving in Josh Lonero. It was a battle back and forth with each team holding their opponents runners on base. In the seventh inning, the Wolverines capitalized off of a Bethany error, knotting the game at 2-2. Both teams continued to battle throughout the rest of the game. Bethany gained momentum in the top of the 11th inning. Brandon Wagner reached on a single to left field. Moments later, Ethan Young tripled to right field driving in Wagner and giving the Bison the lead.
