Bison Closeout Regular Season with Split

Pittsburgh, Pa - The Bethany College baseball team took on the La Roche University Redhawks Saturday afternoon in a non-conference doubleheader. The Bison and Redhawks split. The green and white took game one, 2-1 and fell in game two 3-2. Bethany finishes the regular season 25-14 (14-10).

Game One Overview

Bethany edges La Roche, 2-1  

The Bison and Redhawks battled back and forth. It was a pitchers' duel in game one. Both teams allowed a total of three ones and seven hits. Bethany struck first on the scoreboard when Ethan Young hit his sixth homerun of the season. The Bison held the lead until the fifth inning when the Redhawks knotted the game at 1-1. The game came down to the wire. In the ninth inning, Neil Woods singled to left field driving in Ethan Young to give the Bison game one.

Game Two Overview
Bethany fell to La Roche, 3-2

The Bison struck first in game two in the fourth inning. Tyler Frazee reached on an error by a La Roche player, driving in Neil Woods. The green and white trailed 2-1 going into the seventh inning. In the seventh, Josh Lonero laid down a squeeze bunt, scoring Tyler Frazee. Bethany fell to the Redhawks in the ninth inning.

Bethany College baseball will travel over the border to Washington, Pa on Thursday for the first round of the PAC Tournament. The Bison will face the Presidents in the first round.  Bethany heads back to the playoffs for the first time since the 2014 campaign.
