Baseball Closes 2019 Season

Washington, Pa - The Bethany College baseball team took on the Washington and Jefferson Presidents in the PAC Tournament championship Saturday afternoon. The Bison fell to the Presidents, 8-1. The green and white finished their season 27-16 (14-10). Bethany tied the single season record for most wins in a season.

Prior to heading to Washington, Pa Saturday morning, Bethany College president, Rev. Dr. Tamara Nichols Rodenberg and Dr. Joe Lane, Provost and Dean of the Faculty held a small graduation for the nine baseball seniors before heading to the championship. The student-athletes were celebrated and received their diplomas gathered by family, friends, mentors, and teammates.

Sophomore Kyle Goodwin and seniors Tyler Frazee and Neil Woods were named to the PAC All-Tournament team after the conclusion of the championship game.

Bethany fell to Washington & Jefferson, 8-1

The Presidents jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead and didn't look back. Washington and Jefferson added two more runs in the fourth taking a 7-0 lead. Bethany got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fourth. Neil Woods hit sacrifice fly to center field scoring Ethan Young. The Bison would hold the Presidents to just one run after five innings. Bethany was held to just three hits through nine innings.
