Baseball: Bison Swept by Wolverines

Bethany, W.Va. – The Bethany College baseball team faced the Grove City Wolverines in a PAC doubleheader at Bethany Park, Saturday afternoon.

Game One Overview

Grove City 4, Bethany 1  

The Wolverines struck first in the third inning. In the bottom half of the inning Bethany knotted the game at 1-1. Cameron Schaub singled to left field and moved Stef Blackstone to third. Blackstone scored on an error. Grove City regained the lead in the fifth and added an insurance run in the sixth to take game one, 4-1.

Game Two Overview

Grove City 7, Bethany 2

Both teams were held scoreless until the sixth inning. The Wolverines scored two runs to take a 2-0 lead. In the bottom half of the inning, Colton Stoneman singled to drive in Kevin Pollock cutting the Wolverines' lead in half. The Wolverines added a run in the seventh and the ninth, extending their lead to 4-1. In the ninth inning the Wolverines added three runs extending the lead to 7-1. Bethany scored in the bottom half after Logan Bennett singled to right field to score Derek Black.
