LAST MEETING: The Bison defeated the Golden Tornadoes 26-20 last time out. Carlin Bason rushed for three touchdowns and 125 yards. The green and white defense forced three fumbles, two were forced by Joseph Fiasco. Nate Daniels returned a fumble recovery 49-yards. The defensive herd sacked the Golden Tornado quarterback, four times for a total loss of 25 yards.

 

TAKEAWAY VICKERS: Freshman Dadrick Vickers leads the Bison with three interceptions and is third in the PAC. The freshman recorded two interceptions against Ursinus on week one and is one of two freshman to record two interceptions in one game this season.

 

TAKING IT YARD: Senior quarterback Carlin Bason has three rushing touchdowns this season of 49+ yards. Bason rushed for a season long 56 yard touchdown against Waynesburg, and had a 54 yard touchdown on Saturday against Westminster at home. Bason leads the Bison with four rushing touchdowns thus far this season.

 

A LOOK BACK IN TIME: In 1975, Bob Williams broke the single game record with four field goals made against CMU on October 18. Back in October of 1985, the Bison offense powered by John Carroll, 31-17. The win gave the green and white their first win of the season. The offense gained 382 yards. On October 8, 1988 the Bison win in dramatic fashion, with time running out in the final quarter. Quarterback Jamie Hamm threw a game winning 39-yard touchdown pass to Dan Reilly to defeat Oberlin College, 14-7. In October of 1991, Dan Rovira set the record for most sacks in a game with 4.5 twice. He first set the record on October 12 against Gannon and then again a week later against Westminster. The record still stands today.

 

125 YEARS OF BETHANY FOOTBALL: Each week Bethany Game notes will consist of a look back in Bison football history. Bethany will play its 125th season of football in 2019 and the Bison will celebrate the rich tradition and history of the program throughout the year by honoring the great games, moments, teams, players, coaches and staff from the past on November 9. Kickoff is set for 1:25 pm.
