Gibson and Vickers Earn PAC Weekly Honors

Greenville, Pa – Senior football defensive lineman, Daniel Gibson (Braddock, Pa | Woodland Hills) was announced as Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Defensive Player of the week while freshman defensive back, Dadrick Vickers (Miami Gardens, Fla. | Miami Norland) was announced as Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Rookie of the Week for their performances last week against the Thiel Tomcats.

Gibson finished with 10 tackles (6 solo), 6.0 tackles for loss and 4.0 sacks Saturday in a 37-7 home win over Thiel.  His 6.0 tackles for loss Saturday are the most by a PAC player since Thiel's Tim Taylor had 7.0 at Bethany on Oct. 15, 2011. This is Gibson's first PAC weekly honor this season.

Vickers intercepted three passes Saturday in Bethany's 37-7 win over Thiel. The freshman defensive back leads the PAC this season with six interceptions. Vickers is the first Bethany player with three interceptions in a game since Daulton Freeman in a 23-13 win at Ursinus on Sept. 3, 2016. Vickers has had two multi-interception games this season. His first coming against Ursinus in week one. This is Vickers' first PAC weekly honor this season.

Bethany College football returns to action this Saturday when they travel north to Latrobe, Pa for a PAC contest against the Saint Vincent Bearcats. Kickoff is set for 1 pm.
