PAC tabs Truex Rookie of the Week

GREENVILLE, Pa. (Nov. 21) – After helping Bethany College to a 2-0 start to the season, freshman forward Chaice Truex (Wheeling, W.Va./St. John Central (Ohio)) was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Rookie of the Week announced the league office.

Truex averaged 15.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game during to help Bethany win the Mount Aloysius Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament last weekend. He shot 65.0 percent (13-of-20) from the field and averaged 24.0 minutes of floor time.

Truex poured in 17 points while making his debut in the season-opening win over Mount Aloysius. He followed that up with 14 points and six boards off of the bench in the team's tournament championship win over Juniata.

The Wheeling, West Virginia native becomes the inaugural winner of the award. The PAC added the Rookie of the Week honor for the 2016-17 academic year.

Truex and the rest of the Bison return home tomorrow, Tuesday November 22 when they host Carnegie Mellon for a non-conference tilt. The opening-tip is set for 7 p.m.
