PAC, ECAC select Truex rookie of the week

GREENVILLE, Pa. (Feb. 14) – Bethany College freshman Chaice Truex (Wheeling, W.Va./St. John Central (Ohio)) was tabbed the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Rookie of the Week announced the league office Monday afternoon.

On Tuesday, the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) also selected Truex as the Divison III South Region Rookie of the Week.

He averaged 18.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game to help the Bison split its two games last week.

Truex helped the Bison earn a victory over league-leading Saint Vincent last Wednesday with a career-high 25 points on 9-of-14 (64.3 percent) shooting, including 5-for-6 from three-point range, and a team-high eight rebounds. The Wheeling, West Virginia native added 11 points and five rebounds in the team's loss to Washington & Jefferson on Saturday.

The rookie of the week nod is the fourth this season for Truex and first since January 9.

Truex and the rest of the Bison enter the final week of the regular-season with a road matchup at Chatham on Wednesday, February 15 at 8 p.m., before closing out the week against Grove City at home on Saturday, February 18 at 4 p.m.
