Bray and Wilson Have Career-Best Performances in Loss

Pittsburgh, Pa- The Bethany College men's basketball team traveled to Pittsburgh, Pa. for a President's Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup to face the Chatham University Cougars. The Bison fell to the Cougars, 77-58. The Bison were led by career high performances from freshmen Khalil Wilson and Allayasa Bray with 18 points apiece. The green and white are now 2-18 (1-10) and Chatham is now 13-8 (7-6).

GAME OVERVIEW
1st – The game started with three straight three pointers, Dylan Furlong hit from behind the arc to knot the ballgame at 3-3. The Cougars took a 6-3 lead after a shot from behind the arc. A jumper from Trent Uphold put the Bison back within one, 6-5. Khalil Wilson knotted the game at 9-9 with a mid-range jumper. The Cougars regained the lead going up by 10, 19-9. A Furlong three put the Bison back within seven, but the Cougars had an answer building the lead to as many as 18 in the first half. The Bison trailed going into halftime, 40-24.

2nd- Bethany and Chatham started well offensively in the second half, as the game went back and forth with each team answering its opponent's shots. Jumpers from Derek White Jr. and Khalil Wilson cut the Cougar lead to 15, 51-26, however the Bison couldn't get over the 14 point deficit, despite shooting 57.1% from the field in the second half.

Allayasa Bray notched a career high 18 points, shooting 5-8 from the field and going 8-11 from the charity stripe. Bray pulled in a team high seven rebounds
Derek White Jr. dished out six assists while added 10 points
Dylan Furlong added eight points
• Bethany shot 46.7% compared to Chatham's 47.4%
• Bethany scored 20 bench points, 18 points coming from Bray

"We got off to a slow start on both offense and defense in the first half, which put us in a tough spot against a veteran team. We had our opportunities but couldnt finish plays through the game. We'll get ready for another tough road test against Thiel. #ONEBethany"

Bethany returns to action Monday, Feb. 4. when they travel to Greenville, Pa, for a PAC matchup against Thiel. Tipoff is slated for 7:30 pm.
