Men's Basketball Edged by Chatham

Pittsburgh, Pa  – The Bethany College men's basketball team traveled Pittsburgh, Pa for a PAC contest against the Chatham Cougars Wednesday evening. Despite a late surge in the second half, the Bison fell to the Cougars, 73-68. Sophomore Khalil Wilson led the Green and White with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

GAME OVERVIEW

Dalton Hamrick put the Bison on the board first with a jumper. The Cougars were able to bounce back and went on a 17-2 run before the Bison could find the hoop again. A Dylan Furlong three pointer and back to back jumpers from Derek White Jr. cut the lead to 17-11. The Bison scrapped to cut the lead to six, 24-16, after Aiden Albert hit a shot from behind the arc with under seven minutes to go in the half. The Bison were unable to get over the hump trailing 36-20 at the break.

In the second half, the Green and White battled to stay in the game. The Bison fell behind by as many as 20 before climbing back and cutting the lead to ten with an Albert jumper, 61-51, with under seven minutes to go. A Khalil Wilson jumper put the Bison within seven, but a Bethany technical foul allowed Chatham to knock in two freebies. With under two minutes to go, Albert cut the lead to 68-61 and after a pair of White Jr. free throws, the Bison were down by five with under a minute to go. Unfortunately, the Bison were unable to complete the comeback.
