Men's Basketball Struggles Continue in Loss to Presidents

Bethany, W.Va– The Bethany College men's basketball team returned to Hummel Field House for a PAC contest against the Washington and Jefferson Presidents Saturday afternoon. The Bison struggles continue, falling 63-46 to the Presidents. The Green and White were led by Trey Shifflett with 11 points. Khalil Wilson pulled in a team high 12 rebounds.

GAME OVERVIEW

In the opening minutes the Presidents and Bison answered their opponent's buckets. Aiden Albert hit back to back jumpers to give the Bison a 4-3 lead. However, the lead didn't last long for the Green and White. The Presidents knocked in two freebies from the charity stripe to regain the lead and took off on a 15-1 run to take an imperious lead. Back to Back jumpers from Khalil Wilson gave the Bison their first points since the Presidents' run began. The Green and White used a 10-3 run of their own to bring the score close, going into the break, Bethany trailed 30-19.

The second half remained in W&J's control. Bethany's Dalton Hamrick hit a three to cut the lead to 10, 32-22, 17:51 to go in the second half. However, the Bison were unable to get over the hump to break the lead into single-digits. The Presidents would lead by as many as 20 points in the second half, maintaining a comfortable lead.

Bethany's 15 turnovers converted to 17 W&J points. The Green and White were also outscored 34-12 inside the paint.
