MBB: Three Named Academic All-District

GREENWOOD, Ind. - Three Bethany College men's basketball players were honored for their work on and off the court by College Sports Communicators (CSC), the organization announced today (Tuesday, March 25, 2025).  

Juniors Troy Hixson and Cole Dailey were joined by sophomore Ben Guffey on the All-District team. This marks the first Academic All-District honor for all three players.  

"Congratulation to Ben Guffey, Troy Hixson, and Cole Dailey for their outstanding dedication and hard work in earning a spot on the academic honor roll. Excellent work on the court and in the classroom," said Bethany College Men's Basketball Coach Brad Johnosn.

Dailey, a sports studies major, earned honorable mention honors from the Presidents' Athletic Conference this season. The junior forward finished ninth in the conference in scoring with 15.6 points per game and finished fourth in the conference with 7.8 rebounds. Dailey was also ranked amongst the PAC bests in blocked shots (second, 2.0), assists (3.3, fifth), field goal percentage (fourth, 52.3 percent), and assist to turnover ratio (eighth, 1.0). 

The program's all-time block leader, Dailey also joined the 1,000-point and 500-rebound clubs this season.   

Hixson, a marketing major, scored in double figures 15 times this season, while starting in 21 of 25 games. He averaged 11.3 points on 40 percent shooting with 3.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists.  

Guffey, a dual major in sports administration and communications, started in 15 of 24 games for the Bison. He averaged 6.8 points and 3.4 rebounds this season.  

Bethany finished the season with a 7-18 record.
