Bethany, W.Va. (Mar. 16) - The Bethany College men's lacrosse team knocked off Carroll (Wisconsin) 8-5 in a non-conference matchup on Thursday.

With the win, the Bison move to 3-2 on the year, while the Pioneers fall to 3-5 overall.

Leading the way for the Bison was Tyler Peck (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) who notched three goals and an assist, while Jake Holland (Canton, Ohio/Jackson) added two goals and an assist. Dan Booth (Stockport, Manchester, England/Poynton), Caleb Staudenbaur (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Kenston), and Christopher Isaacs (Norwalk, Conn./Brien McMahon) also added goals with Booth also tallying an assist.

The Bison got off to a hot start with the 3-0 advantage after the first quarter of play. Holland got things started with the first goal of the game, followed by Peck who scored the next two with the second score coming in a man-up situation.

The Green and White extended their lead to 4-0 at the beginning of the second quarter when Isaacs netted his second goal of the season. Carroll got on the board at the 3:05 mark of the second before Peck picked up his third goal just before halftime to give Bethany the 5-1 lead.

In the third quarter, the hosts added a goal but the Pioneers tallied two to draw within three going into the final quarter of play.

Carroll opened the fourth with a goal to make the score 6-4 in favor of Bethany. On the next possession, the Bison were a man down from a un-releasable previous penalty. The defender Staudenbaur scooped up a groundball and ran the length of the field to find the back of the net to regain a three goal advantage at 7-4.

The visitors would add another goal around the five-minute mark of the game but Booth's goal a few minutes later sealed the deal for the Bison, who are now 2-1 at home to start the year.

Next up, Bethany hosts Mount Saint Joseph on Saturday, March 18 at 1 p.m. at Bison Stadium.
