Lacrosse Picks Up Inaugural PAC Win

Stuebenville, Ohio - The Bethany College men's lacrosse took on Franciscan for the first ever PAC contest. The Bison and Barons have faced each prior to today's game six times with Bethany winning four of the six contests. This is the first year for the PAC in hosting lacrosse. The Bison squeezed by the Barons 11-9.

GAME OVERVIEW

 Bethany and Franciscan battled back and forth in the first period with the Bison striking first from a Nick Melita goal. Franciscan scored two goals within a minute of each other. The Bison had an answer later in the period scoring four goals before the end of the period. Anthony Helias scored followed by Chandler Dunn and Nick Melita's second and third goal of the day. Bethany led 5-2 after one.

In the second period, Anthony Helias scored to extend the Bison lead. Franciscan would score three in the second period. The Bison held on to a 6-5 lead at halftime.

Franciscan tied the game at six to start the third period. Anthony Helias scored his third goal on the day to give the Bison back the lead. Chandler Dunn and Will Gatling both added goals in the third to keep the Bison lead. Bethany led 9-7 after three.

In the fourth, goals from Anthony Helias and Tristan Shaffer sealed the win for the Bison.
