Men's Lacrosse: Bison Stampede Past Quakers in Home Opener
Bethany, W.Va. – The Bethany College men's lacrosse team hosted the Wilmington College Quakers in the Bison's home opener Saturday afternoon at Bison Stadium.
THE BASICS
Final Score: Bethany 16, Wilmington 7
Records: Bethany (1-1, 0-0); Wilmington (1-1, 0-0)
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bethany took a quick 2-0 lead after Aarin Burton and Tyler Britton put the Bison on the board.
- Britton added another goal, giving the Bison a 3-1 lead, but the Quakers battled to score two, knotting the game a 3-3 to end the first period.
- Britton anchored the Bison offense in the second period, scoring two goals. Joshua Allegra added a goal. Bethany led 6-3 heading into halftime.
- In the third, the Bison outscored the Quakers, 7-2.
- The Bison lead 13-5 heading into the final period of play.
- Bethany would outscore Wilmington in the fourth to win 16-7.
BISON TOP PERFORMERS
- Aarin Burton and Tyler Britton both scored five goals each to lead the Bison.
- Joshua Allegra added three goals and three assists.
- Raymond Rogers contributed with two goals and one assist.
- Andrew Smith registered 19 saves.
