Bison Men's Soccer Tabbed Eighth in 2016 Preseason Poll

Aug. 18 - GREENVILLE, Pa. - The Bethany College men's soccer team was recently picked to finish eighth in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Preseason (PAC) Coaches' Poll.

The Bison finished just one point behind Waynesburg in the poll, totaling 25 points.

Reigning PAC Champion Thomas More was picked to defend their title with 78 points, including six first-place votes. Grove City and Geneva were picked to finish second and third with both receiving a first-place vote. 

Washington and Jefferson and Westminster completed the top five with 56 and 51 points, respectively, while the Titans garnered one first-place vote.

The PAC also released a list of players to watch for the upcoming season and four Bison were listed. Senior Jack Waters (Epsom, United Kingdom/Glyn School), junior Adam Franco (Inglewood, Calif./Eisenhower) and sophomores Marlon Mejia (West Melbourne, Fla./Covenant Christian) and Jay O'Donnell (Cardiff, Wales/Radyr Comprehensive) were among the players selected.

As a junior and team captain in 2015, Waters was named a Second-Team All-PAC honoree. He led the team with 29 points, including 12 goals, both of which ranked fifth in the conference.

The Bethany men's soccer team opens their season on Saturday Sept. 3 at Johns Hopkins at 11 a.m. Their first home contest is Wednesday Sept. 7 vs. Marietta. They then open PAC play on Saturday Oct. 1 when they travel to Waynesburg University.
