Bethany dealt 3-2 loss to Mount Aloysius

Sept. 27 - CRESSON, Pa. - The Bethany men's soccer team battled in a 3-2 loss to Mount Aloysius in non-conference action on Tuesday.

The hosts got things started quickly, scoring on a header from a cross in the second minute. 

The Green and White got the equalizer in the 19th minute when Jose Arzate (Waller, Tx. / Waller) got his own rebound and scored on a second-chance effort to tie the game at 1. The score would remain 1-1 into the half.

The Mounties would add two goals in the 53rd and 63rd minutes, both by The Mount's Aubrey Brown to give them a two-goal advantage.

Bethany would draw back within one in the 80th minute when Presidents' Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week Jack Waters (Epsom, United Kingdom/Glyn School) capitalized on a direct kick that was deflected in, making the score 3-2. 

However, the Bison were unable to tie it in the final minutes.

Arzate led The Green and White with four shots on goal along with his net finder while Waters added his third goal in as many games on two shots. Goalkeeper Callum Appleby (Maidstone, United Kingdom/Maidstone) recorded five saves.

With the loss, Bethany falls to 4-4-2 on the year. Next, the travel to Waynesburg on Saturday for a game set to start at 4:00 p.m.
