Bison thwarted in second half by Geneva

Oct. 18 - BETHANY, W. Va. - The Bethany men's soccer team dropped their Presidents' Athletic Conference matchup with Geneva, 3-0, on Tuesday.

The first half was scoreless and filled with a lot of physical play. Geneva registered seven shots in the opening period to Bethany's four.

The visitors gained the advantage in the 48th minute when Liam O'Halloran completed a direct deflection off of a save.

Bethany best chance to tie in the second half came just minutes after Geneva's goal when Kai Whitney (Melbourne, Fla./Eau Gallie) ripped a shot from the right side of the six-yard box but the keeper smothered it.

Geneva increased their lead in the 61st minute when Able Carlton beat the keeper to go up 2-0. They would add another just four minutes later to take the 3-0 lead.

In the loss, Callum Appleby (Maidstone, United Kingdom/Maidstone) registered seven saves on 13 shots. Adam Franco (Inglewood, Calif./Carter) and Whitney registered the Bisons two shots on goal.

Bethany returns to action Saturday, Oct. 22 when they host Westminster for Senior Day. Kickoff is slated for 3:30p.m.
