HARRISONBURG, Va. (Sept. 1) - The Bethany College men's soccer team played to a draw at Eastern Mennonite, 0-0, Saturday night in a non-conference match.

THE MATCHUP

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • After a slow first half, both teams had chances to score, but came up empty handed.
  • Eastern Mennonite held a 13-to-10 shot advantage in regulation, but Bethany had at least four scoring opportunities in the second half that came up short.
  • Eastern Mennonite had a pair of opportunities in the first overtime session, while Bethany had a few chances in the second overtime period, but neither team could find the back of the net.

MATCH NOTES

  • Junior goalkeeper Michael Ceraolo (Weirton, W.Va./Weir) played nearly 90 minutes in relief and earned the decision in net. He made several saves for the Bison to help keep the game scoreless.
  • Eastern Mennonite held a 20-to-14 advantage in shots for the game.
