BETHANY, W. Va. (BethanyBison.com) - The Bethany College Men's Soccer team captured its first season win after shutting out Muskingum College, 2-0, inside Bison Stadium, Saturday, Sept. 8, to kick off the Fuzzy Williams Memorial Classic.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • In the 25th minute, sophomore Iwan Mooney (Cardiff, Wales/Plasmawr) got the Bison on the board with a senior Jay O'Donnell (Cardiff, Wales/Radyr Comprehensive) assist.

  • The Green and White tallied an insurance goal at the 76th mark after sophomore Jose Lujan (Madrid, Spain/Centro Educativo Punta Galea) placed a shot from straight on.

 

MATCH NOTES

  • Sophomore Torben Grether (Rheinfelden, Germany/Georg-Buchner) saw 90 minutes of action in between the posts with a pair of saves as he moves to 1-1 on the season.

  • Both Mooney and Lujan's strikes serves as the first for both this campaign.

  • O'Donnell tallied his second assist of the season in the match, as he now leads the team for helpers.
