O'Donnell Named PAC Offensive Player of the Week

GREENVILLE, Pa. (BethanyBison.com) – Senior Jay O'Donnell (Cardiff, Wales/Radry Comprehensive) of the Bethany College Men's Soccer team was named Offensive Player of the Week for period ending Sept. 9, the Presidents' Athletic Conference announced Monday afternoon.

During the Fuzzy Williams Memorial Classic, O'Donnell tallied a total of five points as the Bison went 2-0 on the weekend. The Cardiff, Wales native assisted on sophomore Iwan Mooney's score in the 25th minute in Bethany's 2-1 win over Muskingum, Saturday, Sept. 8.

On Sunday, O'Donnell netted two of Bethany's three goals against Alfred St., including the game winning score just 28 seconds into overtime. The senior's late game heroics lifted the Green and White to its first overtime win since the 2016 season.

O'Donnell and the rest of the squad will return to the pitch for a mid-week tilt against Mt. Aloysius College, Wednesday, Sept. 12. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. inside the Ray and Louise Walker Athletic Field Complex.
