MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (Dec. 2) - Led by a first-place showing in the long jump by sophomore Baboucar Sallah-Mohammed (Arlington, Va./Fishburne Military), the Bison competed at the West Virgina University Marty Pushkin Classic at the Shell Building on Saturday afternoon.

Bethany College sent a group of its team to the event, which featured competitors from across Division I, II and III.

Sallah-Mohammed established a new indoor-outdoor personal record in the long jump with a leap of 23 feet, 0.75 inches (7.03 meters) to win the event and give him a qualifying-mark for the Eastern College Athletic Conferene (ECAC) Indoor Championships.

Senior Jordan Hunkins (Zanesville, Ohio/West Muskingum) also posted an ECAC qualifying mark in the shot put with a toss of 46 feet, nine inches (14.25) to take second overall in the event. Hunkins also added a mark of 42 feet, 9.5 inches in the weight throw to place fifth overall.

Despite some clock malfunctions on the track, senior Ed Maxwell (Germantown, Md./Seneca Valley) managed to establish a new PR in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.50 seconds during his preliminary round run. His time of 8.60 seconds was good for fourth overall in the final heat.

The Bison will return to Morgantown on Saturday, January 13 for the WVU Open hosted at the same facility.
