Sallah-Mohammed garners eighth PAC weekly laurel

GREENVILLE, Pa. (April 23) - Bethany College sophomore Baboucar Sallah-Mohammed (Arlington, Va./Fishburne Military) has been selected the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Men's Field Athlete of the Week announced the league office Monday afternoon.

Sallah-Mohammed established a new stadium-record in the long jump with a distance of 7.06 meters (23 feet, 1.9 inches). He also won the triple jump with a leap of 13.13 meters (43 feet, 0.9 inches), turned in a fifth-place finish in the high jump (1.78 meters), and placed second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.43 seconds.

The Arlington, Virginia native's distance in the long jump and time in the 200 now sit atop the PAC this season. He already established the top-distance in the triple jump earlier this season when he broke the school-record with a mark of 14.68 meters (48 feet, two inches). Sallah-Mohammed also has the third-best height in the high jump at 1.83 meters (six feet, even).

The athlete of the week honor is his eighth this year and fourth during the outdoor season. He has claimed the award four of the past five weeks from the PAC.

Sallah-Mohammed and the rest of the Bethany College men's track & field team will compete at the PAC Outdoor Championships on Wednesday and Thursday, April 25-26 in New Wilimington, Pennsylvania. Westminster will serve as the host for the event.
