Sallah-Mohammed breaks two school records at ECAC Outdoors

BALTIMORE (May 17) - The Bethany College men's track & field team placed seventh overall at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Outdoor Championships Wednesday and Thursday afternoons on the campus of Johns Hopkins.

Sophomore Baboucar Sallah-Mohammed (Arlington, Va./Fishburne Military) claimed the ECAC Outdoor Championships Most Outstanding Performer at the event after he won both the triple and long jump titles. He won the triple jump with a new school record of 15.50 meters (50 feet, 10.25 inches). That distance has him second overall on NCAA Division III Performance List with one week until the NCAA Championships in Wisconsin. Sallah-Mohammed also broke his own school-record in the long jump with a mark of 7.42 meters (24 feet, 4.25 inches), which has him sitting sixth on the performance list.

Junior Marshall Murray (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn Hills) took second overall in the 800-meter run with a time of one minute, 55.31 seconds.

Freshman Michael Speedy (Irondale, Ohio/Edison) earned fifth place in the long jump with a distance of 7.04 meters (23 feet, 1.25 inches).

Senior Jordan Hunkins (Zanesville, Ohio/West Muskingum) claimed seventh place in the shot put with a toss of 14.06 meters (46 feet, 1.50 inches).
