Blango and Thompson Earn PAC Weekly Honors

Greenville, Pa (Feb. 11) – Bethany College men's indoor and track members Charles Blango and Keyohn Thompson were announced as Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Field Athlete and Rookie of the Week for their performances last weekend at the BSN Oberlin Invitational.

Blango established a new school record and surpassed the ECAC qualifying standard in the weight throw Friday at the BSN Oberlin Invitational. His throw was good for fourth in the event (top Division III finisher) with a launch of 49 feet, 09.75 inches (15.18m). The mark tops the PAC performance list this season. Blango also sketched a 10th-place finish in the shot put (35-01.75, 10.71m).

Thompson won the 60m finishing in 7.13 seconds which currently lands him second on the PAC performance list. He also finished third in the 200m crossing the finish line in 23.37 seconds (adjusted). Thompson is also a member of Bethany's "B" 4x400 relay that posted a third place finish (3:53.68) on Friday evening.

The weekly laurel is the first for Blango and Thompson.
