Outdoor Track and Field Tabbed 7th in Preseason Poll

Bethany, W. Va – The Bethany College Men's outdoor track and field team was chosen to finish 7th in the President's Athletic Conference (PAC) preseason poll Friday afternoon.

Geneva nabbed the top pick in this year's poll. Washington & Jefferson, Grove City, and Westminster round out the top four.

The Bison indoor track and field team will be surrounded by four athletes chosen on the PAC's Athletes to Watch List. Sophomore Charles Blango and senior Malik Ellis look to lead the Bison in the field. Senior Byron Mayers and freshman Keyohn Thompson look to pace the men on the track.

Blango finished the indoor season finishing second in weight throw at the PAC Indoor Championships and also at ECAC Indoor Championships. Blango broke his own school record with a launch of 15.61m at ECAC's.

Mayers led the Bison on the track at the PAC Indoor Championships finishing third in both the 60m and 200m.

Ellis finished fifth at PAC Indoor Championships and eighth at the ECAC Championships.

Thompson finished fifth in the 60 meter dash at ECAC Championships.

The Bison open up the outdoor season Saturday, March 23 at WVU.
