Bethany’s Daugherty Selected as ECAC Division III South Region Player of The Week

Jan. 26 – DANBURY, Conn. – After helping guide the Bethany women's basketball team to consecutive conference victories, sophomore forward Kelsea Daugherty (Newport, Ohio/Frontier) has been named the Corvias Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III South Regional Player of the Week, announced the ECAC on Tuesday afternoon.

Daugherty earned her first ECAC Player of the Week honors on the year as she averaged 17.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals in the two wins. The Bison moved up to fourth overall (6-4 PAC) in the Presidents' Athletic Conference standings after the successful week.

Bethany cruised to a 64-55 win over Grove City with Daugherty leading the way, scoring a season-high 23 points to go along with eight rebounds and four steals. She finished 10-of-20 from the field, logging 37 minutes of action in the contest. Daugherty then totaled 12 points and nine rebounds in the Green & White's victory against Saint Vincent (61-50).

Daugherty currently ranks 10th in the PAC in scoring, averaging 12.1 points per contest. She also ranks second in the league in offensive rebounding (3.4) and seventh in total rebounding (6.9).

The Bethany College women's basketball team will return to action on Wednesday, January 27 as they square off with Geneva College in a road contest slated for a 6:00 p.m. start.
