Women's Lacrosse: Bethany Falls to Franciscan
Bethany, W.Va. – The Bethany College women's lacrosse team hosted Franciscan University in a PAC contest Wednesday evening inside Bison Stadium.
THE BASICS
Final Score: Franciscan 17, Bethany 7
Records: Franciscan (8-5, 5-3); Bethany (7-9, 2-5)
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bethany scored the first three goals of the game to take a 3-0 lead. The Bison goals were from Abbie Carpenter (2) and Kaitlin Pickett. Franciscan scored a goal with 2:39 to go in the first.
- Franciscan's sticks heated up in the second period with the Barons scoring the first three goals on the period to gain the lead. Bethany's Cassidy Mailloux knotted the game at 4-4, but the Barons quickly responded regaining the lead.
- Joanna Melita scored to deadlock the game at 5-5, however the Barons netted two goals to take a 7-5 lead into halftime.
- Franciscan outscored Bethany 4-0 in the third period and held momentum in the fourth period, outscoring the Bison 6-2.
BISON TOP PERFORMERS
- Abbie Carpenter led the Bison with three goals. She scooped 7 groundballs and caused 7 turnovers.
- Cassidy Mailloux had two goals.
- Trinity Dixon made 17 saves.

The Bison return to the turf on Saturday, April 30 for a PAC contest against the Thiel College Tomcats at 1 pm.
