Women's Lacrosse: Mailloux, Wenger, and Carter earn PAC weekly award honors

TRAFFORD, Pa. – Bethany College women's lacrosse took three-of-four of Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) weekly award honors in week two.

Senior midfielder, Cassidy Mailloux (Bell River, Ontario / Ecole Secoundaire Catholic L'Essor) earned PAC Offensive Player of the Week honors. Mailloux scored 11 goals and had one assist in Bethany's 3-0 week. In the season-opening win over La Roche, she had six points (five goals, one assist), as well as three draw controls, three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Mailloux followed that with four goals in the win over Eastern Mennonite. In Sunday's come from behind win over Anderson, she had two goals including the game winner in triple overtime.

Freshman defender, Emily Wenger (New Cumberland, Pa. / Cedar Cliff) earned PAC Defensive Player of the Week. Wenger finished the week with 13 caused turnovers and 19 ground balls on the week. She had six caused turnovers and five ground balls in the opening win over La Roche. Wenger scooped seven ground balls, won five draw controls and added a goal in the victory over Eastern Mennonite. In Sunday's comeback win over Anderson, she caused five turnovers, picked up seven ground balls, won five draw controls and added three points (two goals, one assist) in the triple-overtime victory.

Freshman midfielder, Jada Carter (Bethlehem, Pa. / Freedom)  registered seven points, nine ground balls, seven caused turnovers and won 11 draw controls to help propel Bethany to a 3-0 week to open the year. She posted four points (three goals, one assist) in the season opener against La Roche and then scored two goals and scooped five ground balls in victory over Eastern Mennonite. In Sunday's triple-overtime win over Anderson, Carter scored the game-tying goal to send the game into OT and finished the day with three ground balls, two caused turnovers and won three draw controls.

Bethany returns to action on Saturday, Mar. 4 in a non-conference tilt with Marietta beginning at 1 pm.
