Women's Lacrosse: Bison fall to Tomcats

GREENVILLE, Pa.  – The Bethany College women's lacrosse traveled north to Thiel College for their final PAC contest of the 2023 season. The Tomcats cruised to 19-7 victory over the Bison.

THE BASICS

Final Score: Thiel 19, Bethany 7  

Records: Thiel (6-10, 2-7 PAC), Bethany (5-12, 1-8 PAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Bison struck first with a Cassidy Mailloux goal that came from Jada Carter. The Tomcats answered, knotting the game at 1-1 a few minutes later. The Bison regained the lead after Emily Wenger found the back of the net. The Tomcats would then score four goals to take a 5-2 lead after the first.
• The Bison led the second period the same way they led the first. They scored two goals to open the second. Emily Wenger and Cassidy Mailloux both found the back of the net. Much like the first period, the Tomcats scored four goals to take a 9-4 lead heading into the halftime break.
• The Tomcats scored eight goals in the third period and two in the fourth to go ahead 19-5. The Bison scored the final three goals.

BISON TOP PERFORMERS

• Cassidy Mailloux led the Bison with three goals.
• Emily Wenger had two goals and one assist.
• Joanna Melita had one goal and one assist.

BY THE NUMBERS

• Thiel outshot Bethany, 34-26.
• Thiel went 6-for-8 on free position shots while Bethany was held to 1-for-5.
• The Bison committed 29 fouls.
