Bethany Women’s Soccer Falls at Franciscan

Sept. 7 – STEUBENVILLE, Ohio. – The Bethany women's soccer team dropped a road decision at Franciscan 3-0 on Wednesday afternoon.
 
The Barons first got on the board in the fourth minute. From there, it was a stalemate first half, with good defense and good goaltending.
 
Senior Sarah London (Whitehouse Station, N.J./Hunterdon Central) looked to tie the game with just three minutes to play in the first half, but the Barons goalie was able to corral the shot. The game would stay 1-0 into the break.
 
It was until the 56th minute that Franciscan was able to net another goal and increase their advantage.
 
Three minutes later, senior Michaela Hinerman (Weirton, W.Va./Brooke) attempted to shorten the deficit but her shot ran wide, leaving it at 2-0.
 
The hosts would eventually tally another goal, putting the final score at 3-0.
 
Bison junior goalkeeper Taylor Sasak (Berea, Ohio/Berea) fought hard in the net for all 90 minutes, recording five saves.
 
With the loss, Bethany falls to 0-3. On Saturday, they host Defiance in a game slated for 12:00p.m. kickoff.
