Bethany Women’s Soccer Falls to Hiram 3-0

Sept. 20 - HIRAM, Ohio - The Bethany women's soccer team dropped a non-conference game to Hiram 3-0 on Tuesday.

Hiram started the game getting off four shots in the first ten minutes. Bison goalkeeper Taylor Sasak (Berea, Ohio/Berea) registered two saves on those shots.

Michaela Hinerman (Weirton, W.Va./Brooke) got the first shot on goal for Bethany in the 12th minute, but the Terrier goalkeeper kept the game scoreless.

Midway through the first half, the hosts got on the board when Katelyn Mauch found the back of the net. 

10 minutes later in the 33rd minute, Lindsey Cornish (McKeesport, Pa./South Allegheny) looked for the equalizer but her shot hit the crossbar keeping it 1-0.

Hiram added another goal before the half to go into the break 2-0.

The Terrier's increased their advantage in the 58th minute to go up 3-0.

Hinerman would get off two shots in the final five minutes but nothing would come of it for the Bison.

In the game, Hinerman tallied five shots while Sasak picked up seven saves in goal.

With the loss, Bethany falls to 2-5 on the season. They get a week off of game action before they play at Mount Aloysius on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 2 p.m. in their final tuneup before conference play.
