The Bison Fall to the Mounties, 5-2

CRESSON, PA. (BethanyBison.com) – A late goal rally from the Bethany College Women's Soccer team was not enough as the Bison fell to the undefeated Mounties of Mt. Aloysius College, 5-2, Wednesday, Sept. 12.

THE MATCHUP

  • Records: Bethany 3-3, Mt. Aloysius 6-0

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • With her sixth goal of the season, freshman Grace Chambers (Uniontown, Pa./Laurel Highlands) aimed high as she beats the goalie to get Bethany on the board first in the third minute of play.
  • Mt. Aloysius followed suit as Cheyenne Kuncher struck in the 30th minute before another Mountie took the lead, 2-1, just four minutes laster. 
  • The Mounties continued their assault as they rattled off three more goals in the second half to extend the lead to 5-1.
  • Chambers attempted a goal, but the shot was blocked by the keeper befre senior Lexie Metz (Frostburg, Md./Mountain Ridge) got ahold of the the rebound for her third goal on the campaign.

MATCH NOTES

  • Freshman Alex Moore (Portland, Ore./Glencoe) made four saves in goal against the Mounties through 90 minutes of action. The Portland, Ore. native now moves to 0-2 for the season.
  • With her third minute strike and second half assist, Chambers continues to lead both Bethany and the PAC in points (15) and goals (7).

UP NEXT

Bethany return to action this weekend when it travels to Wooster, Ohio to take on Wooster College, Sunday, Sept. 16th. The game is set to begin at 2 p.m.
