Bison women compete at SPIRE Midwest Open

GENEVA, Ohio (Jan. 27) - The Bethany College women's indoor track & field team participated in the SPIRE Institute Midwest Open Saturday. The event featured competitors from across NCAA Division II and III.

Freshman Riley Meyers (Dubois, Pa./Dubois Central Catholic) led the women on the track in the 60-meter hurdles and the 200-meter dash. Meyers finished 32nd overall with a time of 10.26 in the 60 hurdles. The freshman also ran a 28-second flat 200-meter dash to establish 67th out of 110 runners.

Senior Michaela Ross (Wahiawa, Hawaii/Leilehua) led the distance runners at the event, finishing with a time of 12 minutes, 6.83 seconds in the 3,000-meter run.

Sophomore Amanda Gower (Washington, Pa./Trinity) clocked in at one minute, 6.83 seconds in the 400-meter dash.

The Bison are back in Ohio next Saturday, February 3 when they head to the Mount Union Invitational.
