Bison women compete at Westminster Invitational

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. (April 14) - The Bethany College women's track & field team competed at the Westminster Invitational Saturday afternoon in a preview of the venue for the upcoming Presidents Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships later this month. 

Senior Elizabeth Timas (Middlefield, Ohio/Cardinal) crossed the finish line 12th out of 47 competitors in the 1,500-meter run with a new personal-record of five minutes, 8.76 seconds. She also turned in a time of two minutes, 33.52 seconds in the 800-meter run to place 28th overall.

Sophomore Patience Frazier (Washington, Pa./Washington) finished 14th overall in the javelin throw with a heave of 29.97 meters (98 feet, four inches). She also placed 24th in the shot put with a mark of 10.19 meters (33 feet, five inches).

Sophomore Amanda Gower (Washington, Pa./Washington) placed 14th in the 400-meter dash one minute, 1.87 seconds. She was also 26th overall in the 200-meter dash, crossing the tape in 27.92 seconds.

Senior Ashley Borsch (Richmond, Ohio/Edison) finished 21st out of 62 in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.56 seconds. She was also 19th in the 100-meter dash with a preliminary time of 13.24 seconds.

The Bison will host the "Bethany Mini Meet" this Wednesday, April 18 as a final tune-up for the PAC Championships which will be held at Westminster later this month.
