Bison women finish seventh at PAC Outdoors

NEW WILIMINGTON, Pa. (April 26) – The Bethany College women's track & field team finished seventh overall at the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Outdoor Championships held Wednesday and Thursday at Westminster College.

Junior Patience Frazier (Washington, Pa./Washington) won the javelin throw on her final attempt of the day with a distance of 35.46 meters (116 feet, four inches). Frazier, who was sitting in second place prior to her last throw, established a new school-record in the javelin last week and also finished seventh in the shot put with a mark of 10.32 meters (33 feet, 10 inches).

Senior Ashley Borsch (Richmond, Ohio/Edison) qualified for the finals of the 100-meter hurdles with the third-fastest time (16.14 seconds) and finished second overall with a time of 16.22 seconds. She also finished seventh in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of one minute, 12.26 seconds.

Sophomore Amanda Gower (Washington, Pa./Trinity) placed fourth in the 400-meter dash with a final time of one minute, 1.36 seconds. She established a seventh-place time in the 200-meter dash after she crossed the tape at 26.84 seconds. Gower also finished seventh in the long jump (4.85 meters)

Senior Andrea Precurato (Austintown, Ohio/Austintown Fitch) cleared 2.75 meters (nine feet) to take fifth place in the pole vault.

Senior Elizabeth Timas (Middlefield, Ohio/Cardinal) established a new personal-record in the 1,500-meter run with a time of five minutes, 4.03 seconds to finish seventh overall.

Sophomore Lindsey Cornish (McKeesport, Pa./South Allegheny) took seventh place in the discus throw with a mark of 29.76 meters (97 feet, seven inches).

Junior Leighanna Frantz (East Liverpool, Ohio/East Liverpool) finished in a tie for eighth place in the high jump, clearing 1.37 meters (four feet, six inches) to add to the Bison team score.
