GROVE CITY, Pa. (BethanyBison.com) - In it's second President's Athletic Conference tri-match of the season, the Bethany College volleyball team went 2-0 as it swept Grove City College, 3-0, before taking Geneva College in five, 3-2, Saturday, Sept. 22. The Bison now move to 9-5 on the season and 4-1 in PAC play.

BETHANY VS GROVE CITY NOTES

The Bison was firing on all ends as seven players tallied a kill, with junior Katie Sparks (Macedonia, Ohio/Trinity) pacing the squad with 16 for a hitting percentage of .438.

In the first set, Bethany hit at a blistering .371 clip compared to Grove City's .293 percentage. The two squads kept relatively close at 9-9, before the Bison took off for a 20-13 lead over the Wolverines. Grove City would be able to tally five more points, but was not enough to overcome the Green and White.

Bethany continued to dominate in the second and third sets, hitting at a .250 and a .282, respectively.
BETHANY VS GENEVA NOTES

After dropping the first set to Geneva, 25-18, the Bison stormed back to claim the second set, 25-16. The Golden Tornadoes took the third set, 25-22, after out-hitting Bethany, .129 to .000. The Green and White responded by winning the fourth and fifth set, 25-19 and 15-6, respectively, to win the game.

The Bison tallied 55 kills compared to Geneva's 51, as Sparks tied her season-best with 23 kills. The Macedonia, Ohio native recorded her fourth double-double of the season as she tallied 16 digs.
