Double-doubles continue for Gallagher

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. - The Bethany College women's volleyball team dropped a pair of non-conference matches Tuesday at the Geneva Tri-Match.  

GENEVA 3, BETHANY 0 (25-14, 25-20, 25-18) 

Bethany hit .008 with 25 kills on 118 attempts with 24 errors as the Bison fell to Geneva Tuesday in straight sets. 

Senior Talia Gallagher recorded another double-double with 18 assists and 17 digs and was second on the team with four kills on 11 attempts with zero errors. Her .364 hitting percentage was the highest of any player with more than two attempts.  

Junior Adriana Gilliam finished with five kills on 20 attempts and four errors, while junior Averie Braymer recorded four kills on 19 attempts and five errors. Gilliam added 15 digs for the Bison. Junior Andie Clark finished with a team-high 18 digs.  

Freshman Ashton Thomas recorded two block assists and a solo block to lead the Bison.  

LAROCHE 3, BETHANY 1 (25-18, 25-16, 18-25, 25- 

After dropping the first two sets, Bethany was able to claim the third set but fell in the fourth to drop the match. 

Gallagher finished with 19 assists and 11 digs and Clark registered a team-high 13 digs. Gilliam added 12 digs and a team-high nine kills on 32 attempts and four errors.  

Bethany finished with nine service aces with Gallagher, Gilliam, Clark, and freshman Avery Askew each tallying two.  

INSIDE THE BOX & NOTES 

  • Gallagher now has 10 double-doubles on the season with four straight.  

  • Bethany is now 0-4 against Presidents' Athletic Conference schools.  

  • The Bison are 2-3 in four set matches.  

Bethany (7-10) returns to Hummel 6 p.m. Thursday, facing rival-Franciscan in non-conference action.  The Bison fell to Franciscan, 3-1, earlier this season at Saint Vincent.
