Department Excels in Classroom

The Bethany College athletic department has tied for its highest grade point average since the spring semester of COVID.

As a department, the student-athletes combined for a 3.22 GPA, marking the second time they have recorded the grade mark. With that number, the student-athletes have set high marks according to our records.

"I could not be happier for our student-athletes and coaches regarding our department grades this semester," said Interim Director of Athletics Jen Windmiller. "This fall, we had programs hit team GPA highs, and as a department, it's the second time we've hit the highest cumulative GPA in ten years. This is a testament to the hard work our students and faculty put in the classroom and the academic standards our coaches are setting. I know that with collaboration and efforts across campus, we will see continued growth in this area."

Forty-four Bethany student-athletes recorded perfect semester GPAs, while 144 student-athletes achieved at least a 3.5 GPA. The Bison had 15 teams with at least a 3.0 GPA in the fall semester and 14 teams with team cumulative GPAs of at least 3.0.

The women's golf program (3.94 GPA) posted the highest team marks for the semester, followed by softball (3.62 GPA) and women's track and field (3.52 GPA).
