Seven LAX-Playing Bison Named Academic All-District

Seven LAX-Playing Bison Named Academic All-District

A combined seven Bethany College men's and women's lacrosse players earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors, the organization announced Tuesday, June 17, 2025.

Men's lacrosse had three athletes earn honors: Tyler Britton, Christian Nestor, and Cameron Russo. These three leaders guided the Bison to a program record number of total wins as well as conference wins.

All three Bison had record breaking seasons on the field, but Head Coach Harold Pallone III was just as thrilled with his athlete's academic performance:

"It's an honor to receive an Academic All-District selection and these boys deserved it. Countless hours in the classroom spent, not for this accolade specifically, but for the betterment of themselves. We wish these boys luck on their next journey, Tyler, taking his LSAT and looking to go to law school, Christian, finishing his degree here at Bethany next year, and Cameron, who will be successful wherever his journey lands back home in Maryland. I was blessed with the opportunity to have not only such talented young men off the field, but on the field as well, where the trios countless school records will be enshrined in the record books forever."

Tyler Britton finished his Bethany Career atop the record books in many categories. He finished first in career points (232), career goals (171), and total shots (616). Britton also sits third all time in career assists (61).

A late career from Alderson Broadus, Cameron Russo's immediate impact lands him on multiple all-time lists. He finishes second in all-time assists (75) and fourth in all-time points (146). Russo dominates the single season scoring categories with 84 points and 40 assists.

Nestor had 285 saves this season, placing him third all time on the list for a single year in the net. The goalie plans to return next season.

Head Coach Molly Nuri had similar praise for her four women's lacrosse players who made the list: Lexie Reid, Emily Wenger, Jada Carter, and Leah Crihfield.

I'm extremely proud. All four of these athletes represent hard work both on the field and in the classroom. Each of them fully embodies the values that our program is built upon: dedication, perseverance, adaptability, and a willingness to learn. I've watched them write papers on the way to games, read textbooks in the cafeteria, help their teammates study, all while staying committed to becoming great lacrosse players. I know that all four of them are going to be extremely successful in whatever they set their minds to after Bethany and that they will all positively impact others wherever they go.

The Bison combined for a 45-10 score differential in their three biggest wins this season. Two of those wins served as consecutive conference victories over Geneva and Saint Vincent.

All four Bison will return to Bethany next year. Wenger, Reid, and Carter will look to return to the field and continue to succeed. Crihfield will come back to complete her masters of education through Bethany College's graduate program.
