Baseball Splits with Waynesburg

Waynesburg, Pa - The Bethany College baseball team took on the Waynesburg Yellowjackets early Saturday afternoon in a PAC double-header. Bethany and Waynesburg split on the day with the Yellowjackets winning the season series 2-1.

Game One Overview

Bethany fell to Waynesburg 1-0

The early run scored by the Yellowjackets in the bottom of the first would be the lone run of the game. Bethany would only record two hits in the contest.

Bethany rolled past Waynesburg, 14-4

The Bison came out swinging in the first inning. Noah Rady tripled to right center driving in Ethan Young. Neil Woods hit a 2-run homerun scoring Rady. The Bison led 3-0 after the first inning. The Bison bats kept rolling in the second inning scoring two runs. Neil Woods doubled to center driving in Ethan Young. Moments later Jake Stemmerich drove in Noah Rady on a sacrifice hit. Bethany led 5-0 at the end of two.

A Rady double drove in Young in the fourth inning and in the sixth inning, Ryan Anselmino hit a sacrifice fly that scored Rady. Bethany led 7-2 after six. The Bison added runs in the eighth from a Tyler Alworth single driving in Josh Lonero. Moments later, Kyle Goodwin drove in Anselmino. In the ninth inning, Bethany wasn't finished scoring runs. Anselmino drove in two runs, scoring Rady and Woods. A Tyler Alworth homerun scored Alsemino and Lonero. The Bison would take game two 14-4.
