Hayden, Holmes, Ambush to play in National Bowl

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Dec. 2) – Bethany College seniors Donavan Hayden (Hyattsville, Md./Northwestern), Jalen Holmes (New Castle, Pa./New Castle) and Tyler Ambush (Germantown, Md./Northwest) will participate in the National Bowl on Sunday, December 4 at Daytona Beach Municipal Stadium in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Hayden, the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Defensive Player of the Year, led the PAC and ranked second in all of NCAA Division III with 142 tackles (14.2 tackles per game), including 82 solo tackles. His 20 tackles for loss led the league and ranked him 10th in Division III and the three-time PAC Defensive Player of the Week also led the conference and tied for eighth nationally with four forced fumbles this season.

Holmes, a PAC Honorable Mention, recently wrapped up a prolific rushing career at Bethany. He finished his Bison career fourth all-time in school history with 2,701 rushing yards and third all-time with 24 rushing touchdowns.

Ambush, who was also a PAC Honorable Mention, ended his receiving  career at Bethany tied for fourth all-time with 158 receptions, third all-time with 2,262 receiving yards and tied for third in school history with 17 touchdown catches.

The National Bowl Game is an annual post-season college football all-star game consisting of top players from Non-FBS schools. The game has showcased All-American and all-conference seniors from around the nation that have traveled from over 30 states representing over 400 Division II, III, and FCS schools.

Municipal Stadium, a 9,601-seat multi-purpose stadium in Daytona Beach, Florida, is home to the Bethune-Cookman University football team.
