DANBURY, Conn. (Oct. 31) – Bethany College junior linebacker Joseph Fiasco (Wilmerding, Pa./Penn-Trafford) was tabbed the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Defensive Player of the Week announced the organization Tuesday afternoon.

Earlier this week, Fiasco was also named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Defensive Player of the Week.

Fiasco established a career-high with 17 tackles (seven solo), including two sacks and 2.5 tackles for loss, and forced a fumble in Bethany's 21-0 loss to Thomas More this past Saturday.

Fiasco, who transitioned from running back to linebacker this season, ranks second on the team and third in the PAC with 9.3 tackles per game. His 8.5 tackles for loss also ranks second on the team and seventh in the league this season.

The Penn-Trafford alum has been one of the most versatile players in the PAC this season. In addition to his duties on defense, Fiasco serves as a short-yardage running back, the primary holder on kick attempts and is also in on both kickoff units for the Bison.

Bethany (0-8, 0-6 PAC) will begin a two-game road trip to close the season on Saturday, November 4 when they travel to face Grove City College (3-5, 3-3 PAC) for a 1:30 p.m. kickoff.
