Pierce selected to All-ECAC team

DANBURY, Conn. (Dec. 5) - Bethany College senior defensive end Khallid Pierce (Youngstown, Ohio/Ursuline) was tabbed an All-Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Second-Team selection announced the organization on Tuesday morning.

Pierce tied for the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) lead with a career-high 9.0 sacks (all solo) and ranked third in the league with 16.0 tackles for loss. A First Team All-PAC selection last month, Pierce finished tied for third in the PAC with three forced fumbles, while his 49 total tackles ranked fifth among defensive linemen in the conference.

The Youngstown, Ohio native recently wrapped up his Bison career second all-time in Bethany history with 28.5 career sacks, three behind the 31.5 posted by former Bison Dan Rovira (1990-91).

Pierce was one of 13 student-athletes from the PAC recognized on All-ECAC teams. Washington & Jefferson wide receiver Jesse Zubik was named the Offensive Player of the Year, while W&J Head Coach Mike Sirriani took home ECAC Coach of the Year honors.
