Albert Has Career-Best Performance in 69-65 Loss to Stockton

Huntingdon, PA – The Bethany College men's basketball team's comeback fell short in the final minute to Stockton, 69-65, at the Juniata College Tournament Thursday evening. The Bison were led by Aiden Albert's (Saxonburg, Pa / Knoch) career high 28 points. The green and white are now 1-9 (0-3) while Stockton goes to 6-3.

GAME OVERVIEW
1st- The game took a slow start with the Ospreys taking a 6-0 lead with 17:56 to go in the half. Albert put the Bison on the board with a shot from behind the arc at the 15:48 mark. A Trey Shifflett (York, Pa/William Penn) layup with 11:25 to go in the half brought the Bison their second field goal of the game, trailing 15-5. Albert cut the lead within three, 19-16. The green and white trailed 40-30 at the end of the first half.

2nd- Both teams started the second half with threes and would trade baskets back and forth throughout the half. The Bison began to cut the Ospreys' lead with seven ten points coming from Albert to cut the lead 45-40. The green and white had a chance to cut the lead after an Osprey technical foul the Bison missed on both foul shots. The Osprey brought the lead back up to nine. Shortly after, the green and white cut the lead back to six from a layup from Logan Wolverton (Byesville, Ohio / Meadowbrook). The Bison battled back and forth with the Ospreys through the last seven minutes of the game, finally cutting the lead to one, 62-61, from a Shifflett layup and one. The Bison comeback would fall short in the final minute to a three from Stockton.

IN THE BOX SCORE
• Aiden Albert led the Bison with a career high 28 points, shooting 10-14 from the field, and hitting 6-9 shots from behind the arc
• The Bison dished out 16 assist on 25 field goals. Freshmen Derek White Jr.( Portsmouth, VA / Nansemond-Suffolk Academy) led the team dishing out five assists
• Junior Trey Shifflett added 13 points and three assists
• Freshman Khalil Wilson (Pittsburgh, Pa/Woodland Hills) pulled down a team high six rebounds and contributed eight points
• Sophomore Logan Wolverton added eight points and three assists
• Bethany was hot from the field shooting 52.1% and 45.5% from three

We still have things to work out and obstacles to fight through. Now we have a quick turnaround against a tough and disciplined Juniata team.
